Chris
Slade has retired after 44 years with Dorset County
Council, the last 25 of which were concerned with highway
records, of which the final 16 years were as Senior
Rights of Way Officer (Legal) dealing mainly with applications
to modify the Definitive Map and Statement, including
acting as the County Council's expert witness at public
inquiries.
He
is an active member of the
Institute of Public Rights of Way Management Ltd.;
is a frequent contributor to Forum discussions and has
contributed to the Good Practice Guide.
In
his spare time Chris Slade is a beekeeper and, with
Dave MacFawn of Virginia, is joint author of a book
on beekeeping to be published in America.
